I guess unemployment rate is the relevant data. And it's fine to include the date from the early 80s. Would like to also see the Great Depression, though maybe we don't have such accurate data (or isn't measured the same way) for that period. I'm not sure I concur with their conclusion that this looks no worse than the others though. We're down very nearly two points in the past 4 months. That's a rate that is faster for longer than it appears occurred in the other charted periods.
