As long as we’re playing the grumpy old [udate: middle aged] people game--when did you get color TV?

1969--it even had a mechanical remote control that worked by sound. The remote "pinged" and the channel knob kathunked through all 12 channels.

Update: not that we had 12 stations, we had 5--the big 3, PBS and a local indie.

I don't recall, but it had to be almost as soon as they came out, since my family (especially my fathers side) are BIG TV watchers

There was very little TV watching allowed in our house. Can't remember the first color one, but I'm sure we were late. There was no ABC unless you had cable, which we did not.

When I met my husband in 1996 he was still using a TV that had a remote that clunked through the channels. He loved that thing.

I knew I'd like him.

Oops. Husband says it wasn't him. Must have been an earlier boyfriend.
