And Michael has chastised me before along the same lines:

I don't need no sympathy. I won't cry and whine. Life's my light and liberty and I'll shine when I wanna shine.

As the resident atheist, let me just explain that I don't regard it as a worthy prize that my particular life last forever. The fact that religion offers "everlasting life" is to me one of the clearest signs that it is a manmade fabrication, borne of man's egoistic fear of death.
Steph, I know you know but for our our tens of readers out there, I wasn't posting to try to goad any particular theological asses, just thought it interesting to hear someone not condemn the the guy's effort at proseli, prosely, uh, evangelism.
I don't think there's any need for name calling -- theological or otherwise...
Fine. Perhaps you prefer "gore any particular theological oxen?"
I guess the correct spelling is proselytize, though I could have sworn I'd looked it up before and found the correct spelling to be prosthelytize, which matches the way I pronounce it (apparently incorrectly).
