Do you know what happened in Luxembourg in 1988 that sent them on a tear?

I'm not seeing the tear. I see Lux on a pretty steady climb since 1965.

are you looking at time on the x axis and gDP on the Y? and are you looking at lin/lin (as opposed to logarithmic for either)? That link is taking me to an infant mortality chart. Not sure. The progression I saw was a very steady climb in life expectancy.

Originally I went to the first link then went to the side and clicked Lux and then 1988 and played with the time feature at the bottom.
