I'm having trouble finding video of the whole thing. The part I heard included him pimping his charity activities and saying "Elin" about 50 times which all struck me as grotesquely self-serving.
Seems somewhat self-serving in the please take me back kinda way but mostly I think he wanted to protect her and the kiddos from the media onslaught he caused.
The beginning section sounds like it was written by PR people -- long sentences, the charity etc. But then at some point the cadence changes and it sounds like something he might have written himself and then it's better.
I'll grant you that I am not a Tiger fan, so maybe that biases me in some way, but it looked SO rehearsed and SO scripted. He'd look side-to-side as he talked and then when he got to a part that was supposed be/sound sincere, he'd pause, then look straight into the camera and say whatever, then pause, then do the side-to side stuff again. I also found it very interesting that when the camera showed his Mom, she was never looking at him, even though others in the room were. It was like she was so disgusted she COULDN'T bring herself to look at him.

Did either of you watch it?

Yeah, I noticed the rehearsed, choreographed quality. Didn't notice his mom.
I guess these public apologies are necessary for PR reasons, but I don't know how real they ever are or even what I mean by "real".

"Tiger Woods Presser" sounds like a bedroom move that involves thumbs and major arteries.
