Adam was on Nightline's Playlist last night (video here) talking about musical influences. I share since he mentioned Bowie.
In the past, Adam has identified the Hunky Dory cover as a reference for the cover art for his album.

I hadn't seen AL's cover before. I guess that is called an homage/tribute in the biz. Didn't Bowie, Pop and and Reed do some kind of menage a album covers? I was thinking Heroes and The Idiot for the first two but can't find a Reed comparable.
What?! You mean you didn't run out and buy a copy of AL's album on Nov. 23 when it came out?!
Was searching for the album cover trilogy (that I couldn't find), and came across this bizarre Bowie career fact:
Bowie contributed backing vocals to two tracks - "Falling Down" and "Fannin' Street" - on Scarlett Johansson's 2008 album of Tom Waits covers, Anywhere I Lay My Head.
Nope, sorry. I'm sure Mr. L did just fine without me.
I had no idea that anyone had done an entire album of Waits covers. How esoteric is that?
Yes, odd for anyone to do a whole album of Waits covers. Odder still for that person to be Scarlett Johannson. And then incomprehensible that Bowie would sing on Scarlett's album. I think I'm going to need to buy it.
