Literature Map


Check this out.  You can identify an author you like and it will show you a bunch of other authors you might like, in a graphical representation where supposedly the most similar are closest the author you identified.  Can't vouch for the results, but it's an interesting idea.

Pretty cool. I punched in Steven Pressfield and got at least a half dozen other authors that I enjoy. Haven't read much Buddha, though.

I wonder if it is based upon a similar program that Amazon uses to tell me that I might like "these" items based upon my past purchases.

I assume Amazon uses buying patterns. Are you familiar with Pandora.com? By categorizing music according to oodles of attributes, it finds music that is "like" other music. I wonder if these mapping sites are more like that. I'm a big fan of pandora.
