Re: Growing in Office

I missed this yesterday but Ms. Dowd sees things a little differently.

Needless to say, if you and your ilk are happy about something Obama is doing, then my ilk and I aren't so happy.

But you're still right to recognize that I was right when I said that Obama wouldn't be the radical leftist idealogue that he was painted to be.

And he just picked a Repub to be the ambassador to China, (right? maybe I misheard that) signaling that that relationship will be all about trade and not human rights.

I am happy to eat crow on the WOT issues. Much remains to be seen but I'm about as happy as I could have hoped to be on that issue with any Dem in the White House.

I do still think President Obama is and will continue to be pretty darn radical on the home front (with an assist on the spending side of things from President Bush last fall).

I'm not so sure the China Ambassador will be solely about trade. He's the now former governor of Utah who speaks fluent Mandarin due to his LDS missionary stint in Taiwan. He apparently has a genuine love for the Chinese and that might make for some human rights issues. I hope.
