What if...

we just took gov't out of the marriage issue (almost..so long as kids are not involved) altogether? I suppose the social security issue would be an issue for those currently married with which we'd have to deal. Remove any income tax benefits. I think property law could take care of most property issues.

Just make all "relationships" strictly contractual. One could enhance it with a religious ceremony if one so chose.

This idea goes against every religious fiber but resonates with every libertarian fiber.
