Pace

Sheesh. I have to look this up every single time. Maybe if I post about it I'll remember.

Completely sure I've never seen "pace" used like this; and completely sure that now I'll see it 5 times before the month is out.

Posting does help me remember things. But I've now had the experience of reading an old post and being surprised my name is on it because I don't remember writing it.

I thought it was Latin as in pah-chay. That is the second pronunciation.

The first is pay-see.

I've always read it as "contrary to" but have sometimes seen it used (incorrectly I guess) as "in accordance with"...
