Re: Another question

No, I cannot read any drafts other than my own. I had no idea that you and Mike could read mine. Rather unfair, don't you think?

Don't know if I can read your draft since I've never tried; if you'd like me to try...lemme know which you'd like me to snoop. At the Dashboard, I've just seen that you and Michael have occasionally had "drafts" in progress.

Michael made the invitation for you to join, HE gave you your rights in this not so benevolent dictatorship. (Not that I had any objection to the invitation.)

I just created a draft - see if you can read it.

Yep. Power Tools.

I loved PT. I'll never forget...though overall probably a bad thing. I was young.

Guess we need to agree on not viewing or do our drafts elsewhere.

I have no problem with an agreement not to view drafts (especially since I can't view yours or Mike's)....but I don't trust Mike to live up to the agreement!

We've got to ask the big guy...

I've never read anyone's drafts, but I'm going to start reading LJ's because of the nasty comment above.

I need to amend the above. I did see a draft of Scooter's that had some odd Latin stuff in the title. I thought, what in the world is Scooter working on? and I opened it. There was nothing there but the title. I did feel afterwards that I shouldn't have done that and haven't looked at a draft since and wouldn't.

I think it's interesting that LJ would assume that because we have the ability to, Sccoter and I do look at drafts. I infer from that that LJ would if he could. He certainly doesn't trust me not to, EVEN if I agree not to. [If you're being facetious LJ tell me.] I agree it would be unfair if Scooter and I looked at drafts and you couldn't, but we have both said we won't.

As to giving you adminstrator rights (at the risk of being called a lawyer), I guess I kind of thought of this site as a partnership (in the law firm sense) and you were being brought on as an associate. Firms generally take on associates with the idea that someday they will be made a partner, and that's how I thought of you. Wanted to make sure you weren't going to bang the secretaries two at a time or piss off the clients, etc., ie, have a probationary period after which you be a "made man" (to mix metaphors and nicely highlight the previous allusion).

As far as I can tell, the benefits of being an adminstrator are the ability to change the subhead, post on the blogroll, and as I learned today, read drafts. Not really keys to the kingdom but I can see that LJ would want the same rights as Scooter and me.

I'm assuming LJ was kidding and he's going to tell me so. That being the case, Scooter and I will meet in the senior parners' conference room and discuss the fate of our new associate.
