I heard a piece on NPR Saturday about Trinity and its Tongan football players, and meant to post something and ask LJ to comment. Here's a story on the front page of the NYT. LJ, this school has to be near you. Do you have any local flavor to add?
UPDATE: LJ points out that I called it Liberty High, and I've corrected that mistake.

It's not Liberty High School it's Trinity High School. The locals here call them Euless Trinity. They are just down the road from us. They were state champs last year and are the #1 rated team in the nation this year. When you watch their games, the size difference between them and the teams they play is stunning. THeir offensive line looks like a pro team, they are so big. They started doing the haka before games a few years ago and it's pretty cool to watch.
As for the Tongan influence, I don't really see them around or anything, but there are a large number of them that attend the Catholic church that we are members of. In fact, the 5pm Sunday mass is a "Tongan Mass", where the choir is made up of Tongans and they sing in their native language. And the folks who attend that Mass wear traditional clothing.
